Graphics – VOY – BioBed

May 10, 2009 by JoeRalat · Leave a Comment

General Information
Seen here is the LCARS graphic interface featured on the biobed panels in the Sickbay of the U.S.S. Voyager, on Star Trek: Voyager. All of the LCARS graphics seen on TNG, most of DS9, and some aspects of VOY were printed on a type of clear film, which would allow for lighting to be added behind the graphic. For this reason, these types of LCARS printouts are often known as “photographic transparencies” or “translight” displays. By the time of DS9 and VOY, almost all LCARS graphics were created in vector art computer programs, and directly imported to live flat-panel LCD monitors on-set, where the actors would interact with the displays.
